Ashley Buckmore – MA, LPC, RPT
Ashley’s career has focused on helping individuals and families since 2000. In 2007, she transitioned to helping individuals, children, and families in the Central Texas area as a licensed professional counselor. She graduated with her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Ashley has been fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011.
Ashley’s heart has been to help others. She has been assisting children from young to old along with their families. Ashley is AutPlay Certified and is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and utilizes elements of play in her therapy with children to adults. She believes that play is a very powerful form of communication especially when you don’t seem to have the words to identify what is going on. Sandtray therapy is a form of play therapy and can be applied to teens, adults, groups, couples, and families.
For members of the armed services, Ashley also has 7 years of experience working with soldiers and their families. She has worked with the children, spouses and soldiers to aid in the different phases of the military life that they are experiencing.
Ashley is a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counselors Association, Association for Play Therapists, and President of the Central Texas Chapter for Play Therapy.
Ashley offers weekend and evening appointments. She currently accepts Aetna, Ambetter, BlueCross BlueShield, CHIP, Medicaid Managed Care, Scott & White Health Plan, Superior, Traditional Medicaid, Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, UMR, United Healthcare and cash pay.
Cheri Cox – M.Ed., LPC
Cheri is a Licensed Professional Counselor living in Belton, Texas. She earned a Master of Education Degree from Tarleton State University in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. She has been a teacher and school counselor for over 16 years working with students from ages 4 to 18.
Throughout Cheri’s career in education she has made helping the youth of Central Texas a priority in my counseling. She works with students in academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs areas. Through the therapeutic use of art, play, mindfulness and communication techniques; she helps students learn to cope with the many varying stressors of life. Cheri says, “I take a nonjudgmental stance with an empathetic ear. Together we will come up with solutions to your challenges and/or difficulties. We will create goals and utilize tools and techniques to help reach those goals.”
Cheri works with children, teenagers, and adults. She went into this profession because she truly cares about people and want to help others function at their highest potential.
Cheri offers weekend and evening appointments. Currently cash is accepted with insurance pending.
Brittany is an intern working to obtain a master’s degree in clinical and mental health counseling.
Brittany is passionate about assisting adolescents and adults overcome depression and anxiety, remove roadblocks that hinder individuals from being their best version of themself, and to develop strategies that are congruent with healthy thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. Brittany’s counseling style focuses on collaboratively working with clients to discovery patterns to overcome mental obstacles.
