Ashley Buckmore – MA, LPC-S™, RPT-S, AutPlay® Certified Therapist
Ashley’s career has focused on helping individuals and families since 2000. In 2007, she transitioned to helping individuals, children, and families in the Central Texas area as a licensed professional counselor. She graduated with her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Ashley has been fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011.
Ashley’s heart has been to help others. She has been assisting children from young to old along with their families. Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), AutPlay Certified Therapist, and is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor ™ (RPT-S). She utilizes elements of play in her therapy with children to adults. She believes that play is a very powerful form of communication especially when you don’t seem to have the words to identify what is going on. Sandtray therapy is a form of play therapy and can be applied to teens, adults, groups, couples, and families.
For members of the armed services, Ashley also has 10 years of experience working with soldiers and their families. She has worked with the children, spouses and soldiers to aid in the different phases of the military life that they are experiencing.
Ashley is a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counselors Association, Association for Play Therapists, and Past President of the Central Texas Chapter for Play Therapy. She is also an Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor.
Ashley offers weekend and evening appointments. She currently accepts Aetna, Ambetter, BlueCross BlueShield, CHIP, Cigna, Medicaid Managed Care, Scott & White Health Plan, Superior, Traditional Medicaid, Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, UMR, United Healthcare and cash pay.
Samantha Schnabl – MA, LPC Associate
Samantha has graduated from Lamar University with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. She is currently an LPC Associate supervised by Ashley Buckmore. She has assisted children and their families with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. She has experience working with young children to adolescents with Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Trauma.
Samantha’s focus is creating a non-judgmental and comfortable space for people to open up and work through sensitive issues. She believes in personal growth and holding clients accountable to work towards their goals. Samantha approaches therapy from an Adlerian and Child-Centered perspective, utilizing techniques such as elements of play and sand tray therapy. She utilizes these techniques as a way to work through issues creatively as well as a way to communicate.
Samantha is currently accepting cash pay clients and will accept select insurance plans soon.
Joseph Bennett – MA, LPC Associate (Coming Soon)
Joe graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is supervised by Jude Austin, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT-S, and is a member of the American Counseling Association. He works with clients of all ages, and is proficient in providing services to individuals, couples and families, and groups. Joe works primarily with individuals who are experiencing anxiety and depression, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma-related symptoms, eating disorders, spiritual and religious issues, and marital or family issues.
Joe specializes in Contemporary Relational Gestalt Therapy and uses experiential interventions with clients to increase self-awareness, to build resiliency, and to move toward self-actualization. Clients who work with Joe will be challenged to face the uncomfortable aspects of their lives and relationships within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. He strives to provide an honest, nonjudgmental, and empathetic presence for anyone who sits with him. In addition to talk therapy, He provides play-therapy services, facilitates therapeutically-applied tabletop roleplaying game groups, and is being trained in sandtray therapy.
Joe has lived in Central Texas his entire life, and he enjoys a wide variety of personal hobbies and interests. He is an avid Dungeons and Dragons player, and he also enjoys strategic board games (Twilight Imperium is his favorite). Joe’s ideal way to enjoy the outdoors is by wading in a river and fly fishing for hours.
He enjoys reading and spending time playing with his wife, children, and dog.
